Major TGIF! It's been SUCH a long week!
Seriously, I thought it would never end. I don't know if I was subconsciously looking forward to something or what but this week dragged.
Still, here we are at Friday. Is it just me or does today seem a bit quieter than usual? I hit no traffic on my way into the city, I made it to work on time, my office is silent, Starbucks wasn't backed up to the door.
Just me? Ok.
It's time for my monthly pilgrimage to see my parents niece.
Super excited. She's starting to sit on her own and stand holding onto things. Yesterday was her 10 month birthday. And she was my valentine. K thinks it was him but you know who it really was. (Boyfriend will not be referred to as.....K for now. Yeah, I have this problem all the time.)
The trip is mildly starting to wear on me. Not me so much as my car. I want to prolong its life for as long as possible. How else am I going down the shore this summer?! Priorities people. I kid, I kid. But seriously... (What?! The beach is a priority. As mom - she'll agree)
So instead of driving up every month I think it's time to go back to Greyhound. We've never had a problem before. And I pretty much reap all the rewards. No wear and tear, no gas used, I can sleep/read/not pay attention. The only downfall is I'm on a schedule. But I think every other month this will be the new plan. It's just easier all around.
And speaking of going Coach....

"When you're sitting there at 5 thinking of being 25....wait no one is thinking about being 25 when they are 5 years old who am I kidding.
When you're sitting there at 10 thinking of being 25 you assume that is the age when people die.
When you're 15 thinking of being 25 it seems so amazing because you can be an adult and free of your parents.
When you're 20 thinking of being 25 you think that it is 5 years away, no need to think about it, wrong.
I've decided to give one of you lucky ladies soemthing I would want for my 25th birthday.
A COACH BAG!!!!"
The giveaway ends on Tuesday the 19th at midnight and Brie willannounce the winner on the 20th! That's right. On her big day one of you ladies will be getting a present!

Until Monday, Happy Weekend!

It's a long weekend! People are off gallivanting in the snow or whatever it is people DO on long weekends in the winter. Derrick's on nights and we are woefully without money, so there will be no gallivanting for us. There will probably be fires and copious tv-watching, which in my book, is just as pleasant as gallivanting.
And there may be brunch! God willing, I will have bloody marys in my body once again!
I think going Greyhound is smart. You could sleep. Or read. Or surf the 'net (assuming your bus has wi-fi). Or knit a prom dress. Just throwing that out there.
I think it would be better to take the Greyhound if you can make it work around your schedule. It would make the trip more fun because yeah, you can just relax with a book or something. Enjoy the time with your niece, before she grows up and becomes unbearable like all children inevitably do.
This has been both a long week and a short week for me because I've just not stopped doing things.
This week was seriously extra long. and extra awful. I'm so glad it's over! (and really wishing I win that bag to turn things around for me haha). I hope you have a great weekend with your niece!
All of my family (in-laws included) live far away and driving is such a pain in the butt! However, sometimes it is the cheapest way to get there. My fam lives in CT and my hubs family lives in GA and TN ... and we live in MD. So I feel your pain!

I'm a fan of road trips myself (I know, sick in the head). But yeah, you need to save wear and tear on your car. Enjoy your time with your sweet little niece!
Have a safe trip girly!
