Let's Get Messy

Today's the day!!!

I've been waiting for this day for weeks

THE MINI MESSY PROJECT

You guys are familiar with the blogland-famous Messy Project right?
If not, you're really missing out! Kelly is at it again with the Mini Messy Project.
Here's the scoop from the original messy girl herself!

"sooo what is the MINI project you ask?! well if you haven't guessed it yet its allllllll about the mini parts of fashion - the ACCESSORIES...which can also play a huge role in our everyday outfits. Just like clothes, accessories are also worn differently by each person depending on their style, shape, look etc.

So the MINI project will focus only on accessories....but I don't mean just jewelry - tights, hats, sunglasses, headbands, bows, scarfs, shoes, belts, gloves are alllll accessories as well. The MINI project will run the exact same way as The Messy Project however it will only consist of 3 girls, 4 including me & will be starting out at $20."
Like before -

The Deal
1 Accessory
4 Girls
4 Different Styles
1 Major Blog Day

Before we get into all the pictures I just have to say - this shit is HARD!
Seriously. All you fashion/clothing bloggers. Kudos. Not only was Boyfriend annoyed with taking pictures but I felt like Will Ferrell in Talladega Nights "I don't know what to do with my hands!"

So, the item. Drum roll please........

When I opened the package I was so excited! You guys, I love this scarf!

Found at F21
Can we talk about these colors? They're gorgeous! This is definitely something that I will wear year round. I immediately got started on how I wanted to style it. Something different and creative but also something I would actually do and wear in real life. Naturally I turned to Pinterest for a little guidance.

And here's how it went.

That's right! I turned that scarf into a shirt!

Truthfully, it wasn't that difficult. I would recommend wearing a light weight tank underneath if this is something you plan to wear out or even to the office.

Just remember - the blazer has to stay on because your back is exposed!

I added my wide black belt to give my waist some definition.

I went dress-casual and paired my "shirt" with a pair of skinny jeans and black patent pumps. I topped it off with my cognac leather jacket. Perfect for a night out.

Because of the boldness of the print, and the fact that it was my focal point, I kept my accessories light. A simple butterfly charm necklace and my shell bracelet from Croatia.

What do you guys think? Yes... no...what the hell was I thinking?
How would you have worn it?

Now go check out the other styles!

I think I would have worn it as a scarf, because, well, tis a scarf. I do agree though that turning it in to a shirt is either a stroke of genius, or madness. The line between to two is so blurred though that it could be both and neither. What matters is that it looks pretty good.

That is seriously amazing that you turned it into a shirt!!

I know this is random but Kelly just posted a pic of the first mini project on her facebook and when I saw someone turned it into a shirt, I had to check it out!

Then when I clicked on your blog, I fell in love with your design so I followed!

Nice to meet you! :)
